Skin tags, also known as Acrochordons, are common.

They are harmless small, soft skin growths, 1-5 mm in diameter and 2-10 mm in height. They most often occur at the neck, armpits, groin, eyelids and under the breasts.

Skin tags can be annoying and cosmetically annoying.

Clean the area around the skin tag with a washcloth and warm water. A mild soap can be used. However, avoid soaps and detergents with oils as well as impregnated cloths, as residues can prevent the patch from sticking to skin. Gently wipe the area around the skin tag.

Remove the applicator unit from the packaging.

To use the applicator correctly, place the 2 notches in the bottom of the applicator over the 2 arrows printed on the Skin Tag Device. Slide the white top down so that the applicator slides through the center of the device. Press gently until it can not be pushed further.

Withdraw the applicator to remove the device from the blister pack. Place the device over the skin tag.

Then apply the device to the skin by pressing down on the purple part of the applicator (hold with your index finger and thumb around the purple part of the applicator). Do not hold the finger on the white top of the applicator: Press and hold for at least 5 seconds. The device is automatically locked in place on the skin tag and the applicator can be removed.

Remove the foil from the patch by pulling on the tip as indicated. Press the surface of the patch with one finger to ensure that the patch adheres well to the skin and leave it on for 6 days.

Do not scratch, rub or peel the patch. Showering can take place, but do not soften the area in water and do not swim with the patch.

Avoid soap, shampoo, hair products, body lotion, grease and oily substances in the area, as it may cause the patch to loosen prematurely (should the patch come off, a staple patch can be placed on top).

For examples, see illustrations in the package leaflet.

Contact your doctor before use if you have had skin cancer, haemophilia or if your skin tag shows signs of skin disease or infection.

Note that the Nilocin Skin Tag patch may not remain in place in the groin or in areas of skin folds. The withered skin tag becomes necrotic (dead, black tissue) after a few days. This is normal as the device stops the flow of blood to the skin tag.

If you are in doubt as to whether the condition in question is actually a skin tag, consult your doctor before starting self-treatment.
